The cargo spaceship “Progress” is called in the name of Sergey Korolyov
Russian cargo spaceship “Progress” is called after the Great Russian designer of space machinery Sergey Korolyov, whose 100 anniversary will be celebrated on January, 12. It will launch from Baykonur to ISS on January, 18. There is a portrait of the scientist of genius on the fairing of the spaceship. The spaceship will deliver to the station 2.5 tons of fuel, equipment and food. (more…)
Samara: the shield paves the way from “Rossiyskaya” to “Alabinskaya” subway station
The specialists from CJSC “VTS-METRO” and M…C “KAZMETROSTROY” assemble the tunneling machine “LOVAT” at the abuilding “Rossiyskaya” subway station. Its components were delivered from Kazan and were put at the tunnel entrance, using a special crane ordered from Tolyatti

Zoya Chekmazova worked in Gorky Kuybyshev Theatre from 1935. She was slender, graceful and emotional actress. She succeeded in both dramatic and comic parts. Peculiar image on the stage and charm marked the work of the actress.

This project is realized by “Aviakor” together with another two companies which are the members of Russian Joint Aircraft Construction Corporation. Meanwhile, Samara plant is the only one which has not affiliated with the new state holding company.

No Wonders at “AUTOVAZ”
Large quantity of unsold cars becomes usual for “AUTOVAZ”. However, the situation is close to critical. According to RBK “Daily” there are 95 thousands of unsold cars pile up in stock. Nevertheless “AUTOVAZ” started up production line on January, 9.
“Samarskaya nedelya” Crabs in the Volga
The woolly-handed crab is found in the Volga. Its usual habitat is tropical waters of the Yellow Sea. The crabs are rather big – 35 centimeters wide. Samara ichthyologists relate it to idem global warming. With the advent of the crabs in Volga the crayfish could be ousted in the near future.

At the end of 2006 year Agency of sociocultural technologies marked by celebration the next victory of talented children of Samara Region who win 9 rewards in “Young Talents of Russia” contest. The Second Battle for Samara
March elections are promised to be ones of the most puzzling for “Edinaya Rossia”. The experts predict the 2nd place for the list of candidates from “Spravedlivaya Rossia” which is headed by Mayor Viktor Tarkhov. Viktor Tarkhov has already shocked the ruling party by being able to win over the candidate from “Edinaya Rossia” – Georgiy Limanskiy in the mayor election.

The Construction of Samara Subway is Recommenced.
For the first time in the last 15 years the construction of the new subway branch lines is resumed. The tunnels will be made by special machinery which is delivered from Kazan.

Debris are not Found
The US Aerospace Defence Department has not confirmed the fact of founding the fragments of Samara carrier rocket “Soyuz-2” which was launched from Baykonur at the end of December by French space satellite “Koro”. According to the web-site “Novosti Kosmonavtiki” representatives of the department reported that the place of probable debris fall — near Rivertown, Wyoming – were examined by the police and rescuers. However, no fragments were found.
