Former chief of “AutoVaz” Vitaly Vilchik might be at the head of the company again

Former chief of “AutoVAZ” Vitaly Vilchik might be the head of the company again. On January, 16 the committee of the directors could pass him the control under the plant. However, this time Vilchik’s commissions will be reduced. Practically only the car industry in Tolyattii is left under his jurisdiction.

No Wonders at “AUTOVAZ”

Samara Region Large quantity of unsold cars becomes usual for “AUTOVAZ”. However, the situation is close to critical. According to RBK “Daily” there are 95 thousands of unsold cars pile up in stock. Nevertheless “AUTOVAZ” started up production line on January, 9.

Samara aircraft constructors will take part in the serial production of a new Russian amphibian Be-200

This project is realized by “Aviakor” together with another two companies which are the members of Russian Joint Aircraft Construction Corporation. Meanwhile, Samara plant is the only one which has not affiliated with the new state holding company.

People’s artist of Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, 107- year-old Zoya Chekmasova died on January, 11 in Samara.

Zoya Chekmazova worked in Gorky Kuybyshev Theatre from 1935. She was slender, graceful and emotional actress. She succeeded in both dramatic and comic parts. Peculiar image on the stage and charm marked the work of the actress.

Samara: the shield paves the way from “Rossiyskaya” to “Alabinskaya” subway station

The specialists from CJSC “VTS-METRO” and M…C “KAZMETROSTROY” assemble the tunneling machine “LOVAT” at the abuilding “Rossiyskaya” subway station. Its components were delivered from Kazan and were put at the tunnel entrance, using a special crane ordered from Tolyatti.

There is a Christmas concert in Roman-Catholic Church in Samara

Officially the well-known Samara Roman-Catholic church is called St. Jesus’ Heart Cathedral. For the first time “Christmas Oratorio” by French composer Camille Saint-Saens will be heard   in the unique atmosphere of the church. It will be performed by the musicians of Samara Philharmonic Society, Academy Student Chorus of Samara University “VIVAT” and Chamber Orchestra of Samara Philharmonic Society. Especially for this event they invite celebrated conductor from Germany – Professor Leo Kremer.   

“Krylya Sovetov” come back from holidays

New Year holidays are finished for the players from Samara football team “Krylya Sovetov”. Today they are going to a medical examination, from 10 to 13 of January the team is to train in Moscow and then from 14 to 30 of January they are going to Turkey for the regular assembly.

Christmas Car Race took place in Samara Region

XII Christmas synchronous car race was held in Tolyatti suburbs. The winners of world and national championships 2006 for motor racing took part in this race. Sport-lovers enjoyed bright and enchanting sight of car laps. LADA Kalina hatchback was the main prize of the races.

Sportsmen from Tolyatti have become silver medalists in Russian National Team.

The Russian Youth Ice-Hockey National Team took part in world championship for ice-hockey which was held in Sweden. There were 2 citizens from Tolyatti (the representatives of ice-hockey team “LADA”) – Alexander Bumagin and Anton Krysanov.
