The traditional regatta “Volga Cup 2007” was held in Samara.

In the end of July one will be able to see again all elite flotilla of the Volga – this time participating in the regatta named after Vladimir Vysozkiy.

The next station is “Rossiyskaya”

250 million rub are taken from the region budget in order to finalize the construction of the subway station “Rossiyskaya”. Permanent lack of money results in protracted subway building. According to the design it will connect industrial plants with the center of the city and dormitory suburbs. But today only 8 stations work, and people have to get to work by elevated transport. The first train is expected to get to “Rossiyskaya” in November 2007.

Love avenue

Samara government gave 250 young plants to newly married couples. The young families planted their trees in the special avenue. As the latest weekend was marked up by the record number of weddings it has been decided to open Love Avenue. Now the newly-weds will celebrate their wedding anniversaries near their family trees.

Innovative-investment Fund founded by the government of Samara region announced the results of the Contest of innovative projects by scientists of Samara. One of the winners is a project focused on development of nanotechnologies. Dentists suggested usage of such technologies in stomatology.

The 34th Bard Music Festival named after Valeriy Grushin was held in two places of Samara region at the same time

Dividing Grushin Festival into two parts confused not only lovers of bard song but also singers-songwriters themselves.
