Governor of Samara region scotch rumours that tell the region has no time to prepare for the summit EU-Russia which is set on May, 17-18. He stressed that the work is in full swing. And it is already at a crucial stage.

«Early music» ancient music festival in Samara

From May, 14 to June, 14 there will be held the ancient music festival «Early music» in Samara, Togliatti and Novokuibyshevsk. The festival is the most significant cultural event in Samara region. It is a unique possibility to listen to masterpieces of the world music culture in original sounding.

Regional festival «French Spring» is held in Samara from May, 10 to May, 12

The event is going to be held with the assistance of French embassy in Russia and The Ministry of Culture and Youth Policy of Samara region.

The tradition of holding the festival dates back to 2001 in China. For the first time the action was held in 2006 in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Now it will be held in the cities where there is Alliance Francaise. So the French Spring will come back to Samara only in 10 years. Within the limits of the festival the spectators will have the chance to see the street performance «The Dream of Erbera» of Les Quidams theatre.

Administration of Samara is preparing for «March of the disagreeing»

The police detained and released three journalists who talked with one of the organizers of the «march». «March» is confined to the summit EU-Russia, which is held on May, 17-18 in Samara region. The organizers intend to gather about 1000 people to the action. At the same time, on Friday the police seized computers and accounts and records in Samara department of «Novaya gazeta» editor»s office. As a result the readers will not get the regular edition of the newspaper in time.

Germany marches in step with «the disagreeing»

Presided in EU Germany appealed to Russian authorities to allow the «march» on May, 18 confined to summit Russia- EU.
