On this day the Regional New Year Tree Selebration has begun. On December 28, the traditional New Year theatrical performance — the Regional New Year Tree to children, that are in unfavourable conditions of life, started. The holiday was arranged by Department of Family and Population Development of Samara region (Secretary — Elena Borisovna Shasharina).

For the first time, once top secret technologies developed for military scout satellites are used exeptionally for peaceful purposes. The new apparatus can coduct distant Earth probing, and it already provides some information for Russian rescue service, geologists and ecologists. A satellite «Resurs-DK» was launched from space-vehicle Baykonur on June, 15 and now it has given 3,5 thousand pictures of Earth surface. For the first time the sientists are able to receive the data from the satellite online that is directly while the survey is being made. After the analysis of the information the sientists expect they can prove the new theory of the universe origin.

(15.12.2006 12:43) On this day the Regional Olimpic Ball was held. The governor Titov took part in that yearly occasion. Best athletes and coaches of the region, leaders of the regional sport federation, heads of the municipal and local directing bodies of sport and physical culture, managers of sports societies and centers, veterans of sport, principals of sports educational institutions were invited to the ceremony.

For the regional elite New Year is for a long time not only a kind family holiday. In Samara region government there is hope that a usually closed «celebration for elite» is going to have positive public response. It is the first time that the All Russian Peter Assembly has taken place not in a capital city but in a big regional center — Samara supported by its governor Konstantin Titov. Rewarding of the most talented Samara managers was a great event.
